As there are already ample of answers let me give you my list of foods which i recommend to my patients also. So here are for you.

5 Super Foods that Control Diabetes Type 2:



Broccoli — Broccoli is believed to reverse the diabetic effects on blood vessels. Broccoli contains sulforaphane, which protect blood vessels and also controls blood sugar from damaging.                            

Cinnamon — Cinnamon is rich in chromium that affects insulin. It is well known to reduce blood sugar. It is filled with antioxidants it helps to protect the body from diabetes. 



Beans and legumes — Beans and legumes are rich in magnesium, fiber, potassium and iron. It help the body regulate the level of blood sugar and reduce the cardiovascular risk in patients with type 2 diabetes.  


Nuts — Almonds, cashew, walnuts are rich in fiber, which act upon the blood sugar, thus reducing the flow of sugar in the bloodstream.


Seeds —Seeds are low on glychemic index. Seeds like pumpkin, sunflower, hemp etc are known to reduce blood sugar and cholesterol, thus reducing the risk of heart disease and diabetics.





These are all the foods which i recommend to my patients to follow as same as me. Different experts suggest different foods depending on their diabetes type and blood sugar level.
