I want to share my contribution to this Independence Day 2020 Food Parade - a candy which I used to eat in my childhood. This is actually a recipe which is made from Jaggery also know as Desi Gur, tamarind and cumin and the candy taster, tangy and fragrance. This is the often prepared recipe in our home which cant be ignored by loving parents.

Perhaps you had see this candy often serve on domestic flights in India as a welcome kit at departure of the flight. This candy is very similar to the Hajmola candy. This candy is served to save from jet sickness and nausea associated with air travel. According to my grandmother- these three natural ingredients used in this candy have very much Ayurvedic properties and health benefits.

Ingredients:

  • Jaggery
  • Tamarind pieces
  • Cumin and 
  • A pinch of salt

How to Prepare Jaggery Candy

This recipe is very simple. Mix all the ingredients together in a pot in a mortar to soft paste and then try to make small balls. Need to insert a stick for a lollipop style candy. You can wrap it in a silver or colorful paper to present in a style. You can feel its tangy taste to your lip. Enjoy this healthy and Yummi and delicious candy.

When I am trying to reduce calories and sugar content in my diet, I understood that may be I am turning to artificial sweetener or low calorie sweetener.
